[Oriya-group] Sun., March 13, 10am: ILUG-BBSR general meeting

Hello,
  At the organizational meeting today, it was decided
to hold the general meeting of ILUG-BBSR on Sunday,
the 13th of March, from 10am-noon. The venue is the
conference hall at the Institute of Physics,
Sachivalaya Marg, Bhubaneswar-5, located about 1km
North of Acharya Vihar square.
  The aim of this first meeting is to provide a gentle
introduction to open-source and Linux to people that
are new to it. Here is the agenda for the meeting:
   o Welcome address
   o Introduction to Linux and open-source
   o Linux distributions: live demo of Knoppix
   o Linux equivalents for commonly used Windows
     programs
   o Outline of plans for introductory Linux courses
   o Testimonials about using Linux
   o Open discussion
Please note that we will start sharply at 10am, and
the plan is to have about 1.5 hours of presentations
followed by half an hour of discussion. Please feel
free to forward this message to all relevant
discussion groups and forums. A subsequent message
discusses steps to publicize the meeting.
