[Smc-discuss] Code page and Malayalam

Hi all,

I have heard that there is some facility called code page
in the linux kernel. 

What I have heard is that, If we place (ie. if we write code for the 
supporting it) malayalam code page support in the kernel then we will be able 
to get font support inbuilt into the kernel.  So the console fonts and all 
will come with default malayalam support. 

I dont know much about this but would like to 
know more. Does any one know about such a facility ??
