Akshaya involves "e-literacy" and "job-oriented
training programmes."

I guess we will need a word-processor, to begin with.
Followed by an office suite. (Ideally we should get
the 
suite for e-governance developed using tools in
GNOME).
And a browser too. Plus, we could pass off gnome-games
as an aid in familiarising users with the computer :)
