  IKM is still active, but for the fast seven
years the have stories of failures.

 IKM is the biggest supporters of M$. They argue that
GNU/Linux does not have GUI and Openoffice is like
windows notepad and Open sources is not secure!!!!!!

  They knows the facts. Its some other facts that keep
them away. I know several persons working with IKM and
willing to move to GNU/Linux world. But the top authorities
are fully negative to Free software. 

  Since they are using M$ technology, the software they
devolopped cannt be used by Local bodies. IKM gives there
software free of cost to local bodies, but the platform
cost is high (MS XP+Office XP+Malayalam software+MS sql+.....)

 For the last seven years they could "computerize" only one
panchayat(Vellanad, thiruvananthapuram).

 Postgres sql support Unicode.(I didn't tested mysql, it may also)
   But IKM wont use it. They belive that Bill Gates is the God
born to bring computer to common people.
