Hi saravan,
	All Opentype fonts are supported. 
I think you are comparing GNU/Linux malayalam
support to something like ISM or so. ISM etc
use 8bit fonts, so support for each font
is needed. We use opentype fonts, so here
malayalam support is not font specific. 

If you are alrady aware of Opentype fonts,
and still have questions please let us
know....
