You are confusing between the ISFOC font encoding std and ISCII char 
encoding. It is a good idea to standardise on any one "font encoding" ie 
at which position in font table a particular glyph resides. The ISCII 
char encoding is to denote which byte is used to denote a "character" 
(as opposed to glyph)
