[Smc-discuss] printing in Gnome

Hi,
Till now, Gnome-print doesnot support pango..
So I think we lack printing support in all Indian languages(?)
We have submited bug reports to them......

To take printout, I convert the malayalam unicode text file into 
"8bit font" encoding using smc-convert.... Its not a good solution, but
till we get print support in gnome.

   Finally, Using Pango patches one can enter & view Malayalam strings
in Gedit. But what about taking print-outs from gedit. I saw the
print-preview of  a properly rendered  malayalam text in gedit as a non
rendered text. Is it possible to take printout in Gedit or anyother
editors in the WhatYouSeeWhatYouGet format. 
     In simple, my question is how would you print malayalam strings in
linux in the correct format. Is there any tool available.
