[Smc-discuss] developing a keyboard manager - help needed

Hello Volunteers,

Now I understood "something". My previous ideas about keyboard manager
(ie., Capture the keystrokes,
process the keys, Re-send the characters to the active X Window.) will
work for normal True type(ttf) fonts only.
It will not work for unicode fonts, Since in unicode there is no separate
character code for conjuncts & viramas. So even if u replace the combination
of characters with the corresponding unicode conjunct actually only the
same original glyphs are stored there.
So the need is 1) Standard fonts 2) Either a COMMON RENDERING ENGINE for
all X applications or Rendering engines for each kind of appications.

SMC guys what did u finally decide about the combination
required for forming Chillaksharams.

regards,
saravanan

is possible and i am researching on it)..thats why it must be loaded as a
module along with X
