Open Type, the de facto format for fonts to be used in Indian languages. They are available at: <URL:http://www.microsoft.com/typography/otfntdev/indicot/default.htm> But BEWARE: Paul Nelson, who is in fact the guy which job is (among other things) to publish this information, did mention here two weeks ago that these informations are outdated and will be rehashed "real soon now." It is important to note that while the majority of scripts did have a specific version for them, Malayalam (and Oriya) does not, and should refer to the "generic" version I refered you to above, which is quite much older and less exact (Paul already mentionned that the point about the requisite to have all the possible "half-forms" in the font is in fact not enforced and will be dropped. This is just an example.) Anyway, Open Type is a pretty complex tech, and this document cannot be understood in isolation. There is quite a bit of material on the Microsoft Typography site around the link above. Hope it helps, Antoine ]
